Sources in U.S. History Online was designed with community college students’ needs in mind. It is a manageable list of primary source documents that gives students the glimpse of history outside of a traditional textbook, creating a valuable source for research papers that has never existed before. These collections allow students to develop their own opinions and arguments about historical events.

Gale has included multiple essays written by leading scholars in order to provide context for these primary sources, which in turn enhances students’ understanding, makes the documents more relevant, and improves usage and usefulness.

With a website-like feel and easy navigation between documents and the information related to the document, students will find no problems locating relevant materials that enhance not only their academic work, but their knowledge of our country’s rich history.
